AT&T ACCU-Ring Network Access Service

AT&T ACCU-Ring Network Access Service provides customers their own private SONET ring with the reliability and high capacity of SONET plus the security of a dedicated private service. ACCU-Ring Service is a “total service” installed, managed and monitored by AT&T. This service helps customers:

bullet

Interconnect customer premises within a local area;

bullet

Consolidate access to multiple network services on one network; and

bullet

Free up internal IT staff to focus on core revenue-producing functions, while AT&T’s network experts manage their ACCU-Ring for them.

ACCU-Ring provides:

bullet

A two-way digital channel for transmission of synchronous, asynchronous and Time Division Multiplex (TDM) signals via a private dual-fiber, self-healing SONET ring that assures the highest reliability for uninterrupted communications;

bullet

Consolidation of all traffic, including: AT&T all-distance traffic—voice, data and video—and such AT&T services as T1, T3, OC-3, Frame Relay, ATM, WorldNet, Managed Internet Service (MIS), Video, AT&T Nodal services, Local Dial service and Ethernet services; and

bullet

Ring capacity bandwidth from OC-3 (155 Mbps) up to OC-192 (9.95 Gbps), standard channel speeds from DS1 (1.5 Mbps) up to OC-48c (2.5 Gbps) and Ethernet channel speeds from 50 Mbps up to 1 Gbps, plus options for self-monitoring, off-ring connections, disaster recovery and standard channel multiplexing.

Note: Ethernet Service Channels are only available for new or existing ACCU-Ring Network Access Service that is configured on a Multiservice Platform (MSP) and is supported by the Cisco 15454 MSP, Release 3.2.1.

KEY CUSTOMER BENEFIT: ACCU-Ring Service helps customers consolidate their network infrastructures, provide a disaster recovery solution, and simplify their access strategy with attendant savings in time and money, while providing the security of a private network.

AT&T High Speed Packet Services:

Frame Relay and Asynchronous Transport Mode (ATM)

AT&T High Speed Packet Services (HSPS) consist of Frame Relay and Asynchronous Transport Mode (ATM) Services, which enable high-speed transmission of voice, data, video and multimedia applications onto a single network by supporting rapidly changing bandwidth demands (bursty traffic).

AT&T is committed to lead the industry, now and in the future, by driving standards and building products and services such as AT&T High Speed Packet Services based on customer requirements.

Frame Relay

Frame Relay carries the majority of today's data transmissions, and both IDC and Vertical Markets magazines cite it as a growth market service into the year 2005. As one of the leading Frame Relay providers in the industry, AT&T sells close to 35 percent of the world's service.

ATM

AT&T envisions ATM as the fundamental technology for high-speed, bandwidth intensive multimedia applications requiring low latency in local and wide area environments. AT&T sells ATM Service to:

bullet

Offer our customers the latest, leading-edge technology.

bullet

Enable customers to purchase and run more applications across the AT&T network.

bullet

Upgrade existing Frame Relay customers to a more robust service.

AT&T High Speed Packet Services maximize bandwidth use for data transfer as well as data, video, multimedia and voice applications.

Frame Relay

AT&T's Frame Relay Service is an attractive service for companies needing cost-effective many-to-many connectivity for companies who require bandwidth in speeds up to 1.5 Mbps (T1) or 45 Mbps (T3). It helps companies reduce costs, support new applications and improve network deployment while maintaining many-to-many connectivity. Your customers can customize their service and increase efficiency through a wide range of value-added data options such as:

Data

bullet

High speed file transfer

bullet

Electronic mail with file transfer

IP-enabled Frame Relay Plus

The IP-enabled Frame Relay Plus service, along with Frame Relay Plus, are part of the family of "Plus" services designed to complement standard services by adding advanced performance management and reporting features.  The enhanced family of services provides end-to-end SLAs and comprehensive performance management, and is ideal for customers who need higher network availability and visibility than is typically provided by traditional transport services. The services are currently available in the contiguous 48 United States and Puerto Rico.

Benefits of the AT&T Plus Family of Data Services

AT&T Frame Relay Plus and IP-enabled Frame Relay Plus services provide 24x7 proactive monitoring, maintenance, and trouble isolation by AT&T to address problems across the AT&T High-Speed Packet Service (HSPS) network and local loop out to an intelligent demarcation device located on the customer premises. Depending upon the level of service selected, the AT&T Plus Family of Data Services enable real time monitoring and troubleshooting of physical, logical and upper layer protocols, and also offers a complete range of real-time and historical network performance and utilization reports. These reports include access line, port, and end-to-end circuit (PVC, VC or IP circuit) and application protocol distribution views -- all accessible by the customer via a client application loaded on their workstation.

Internet Access

Managed Internet Service

AT&T Managed Internet Service, or AT&T MIS, provides high-speed dedicated Internet access for businesses. The key to this service is that it is managed: AT&T monitors the network 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and maintains the communications link between the customer and the AT&T network. Should a problem occur, AT&T diagnoses it and its resolution begins immediately. This affords customers the opportunity to focus their resources on their business, not on their telecommunications needs. MIS combines AT&T’s world-class IP backbone and customer service to deliver the reliability, security, quality and performance needed to conduct business over the Internet. The target market for AT&T MIS includes corporate customers with the following requirements:

bullet

Corporate sites that need access to the Internet;

bullet

Companies that host Web sites on the Internet;

bullet

ISPs that need high capacity access to the Internet; and

bullet

Resellers, wholesalers and remarketers who wish to re-sell MIS to end-user customers.

To provide the best service and greatest coverage possible, AT&T owns a powerful global IP backbone. Underlying this IP backbone is AT&T’s core network that includes 61,000+ miles of fiber optic cable, more route miles than any competitor.
